What a busy fun-packed weekend we have just had. Well done to everyone who was involved in the Youth Games last week. The players did the borough & club very proud with some very close results. Our junior section - High 5 - took bronze overall and came 2nd in their group losing to Mole Valley who ended up taking Gold. Our U13 section - 7 a-side- came 5th overall out of 9 teams only missing out on the medals by 1 point which came down to goal difference. Some lovely matches and well played by all. Our U15 section - 7 a-side- came 4th overall. They missed out going into the finals by losing on a golden goal in the semi-finals which was a very big shame. All the children who took part played their hearts out and we could not have asked for anything else as they all gave over 100% commitment on the court. Well done to all of them and a big thank you to all the parents who came to support and made the 2 days such a wonderful time. On Saturday evening we had our End of Season Awards night at Heatherside Community Centre. Thank you to all the players & parents who reorganised prior commitments and attended on the night as it was a lovely time and it was wonderful to see everyone there. I will publish on the forum a list of the awards given out on the night under each team, so please check there if you would like more details if you were unable to make the night. Thank you again to all the volunteers and supporters who help at the club in any way and all the support I had on the night with setting up and clearing the hall at the end. Next Years Awards Night will be on SATURDAY 3RD JULY, please put this date on your diary now to avoid any dissapointments nearer the time . I would also like to thank Glenda, Aldine & Sandra for arranging the lovely gift they presented to me at training on Tuesday. Thank you ever so much to you all and all the girls. When I look back at October 2004 where it all started with 6 girls, I can hardly believe where we are now. All the members are a true credit to the club and their parents. I am looking forward very much to next season where we can build on the great results we have achieved this year. With all this in mind I would like to notify everyone that the last training session for this term will be Tuesday 14th July. We will be returning to training on Tuesday 1st September with the new training times. The reason for this early return is that matches at Charters will be starting on Monday 7th September and it would be great to have a training session before everyone's first match after the holiday break. Thank you to everyone who has returned their registration packs, hopefully all outstanding kit will be handed out next Tuesday. I will be registering all the teams over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on the fixtures page for the winter's matches. Finally welcome to all our new members this season and thank you to all the girls who have decided to stay with Surrey Heath Netball Club. Have a great summer break and we all are looking forward to some great matches next season. |
